From the Pastor's Desk...
As the founders of our nation declared us to be independent from Great Britain some 248 years ago, they realized that certain "truths" were "self-evident." (You find those words in the opening sentence of the second paragraph of the "Declaration of Independence.") They, and more specifically, Thomas Jefferson, the primary author of that document, made a connection between "truth" and "freedom."
Well, the most important person in all of human history had made that undeniable connection more than seventeen centuries before Mr. Jefferson**. Jesus Christ said, "You will know the TRUTH and the truth will set you FREE" (John 8:32).
Jesus also declared, "I am the truth" (John 14:6). So, in reality, Jesus taught, "You will know Me, and I will set you free."
Please join us at Port Community Church where we are growing in our knowledge of Jesus and the freedom He gives us. We spend time with Him through worship, prayer, and solid teaching from the Bible. We look forward to you being with us!
